Austrian Model 1853 Foot Artillery Short Sword. Stock # SP COMM. This is an Austrian Artillery short sword, referred to as the Model 1853, this sword was manufactured in 1857, in Vienna, Austria. The sword is unit marked “9.T.D./1240” denoting issuance to the 9’th Pferde-Sepot des Train-Batallions – a Horse Depot Service Batallion, attached to Corps Swords #1240. The sword has an 18” blade, and is 24.5” in overall length, and it is very heavy. The sword basically is in relic condition, the blade is patinaed, with lots of freckling, but no cracks or dings. The blade has a wide fuller on the right side, and the left side is smooth. The handle is a greenish-brown color, and is, we believe, made of horn. This is an unusual short sword that you don’t usually see, and it is a great collectible that should appreciate in value over time. Please remember, we also purchase militaria of all types. US Navy 1852 Pattern Sword and Scabbard. Stock # S-1. This regulation 1852 pattern US Navy dress sword is Maker-marked B. PASQUALE, SAN FRANCISCO. With this maker we believe the sword to be WW1 vintage, however we may be incorrect on that, and if so we’re sure some internet expert will let us know. The sword is in very good shape, the grip, which resembled sharkskin, is really nice, and the gold-colored wire wrap is intact. The guard, pommel and also all metal areas of the leather scabbard are made of brass, and all have tarnished. The engraved , un-named blade is shiny. The leather scabbard, with the aforementioned brass fittings, is in really good condition. At one time this sword was proudly worn by a US Navy Officer, and it is now ready to be proudly displayed in your collection. British Light Cavalry Officer’s Saber, Circa 1790-1815. This is a classic Light Cavalry pattern sword, which would date to the 1790-1815 period. The grip has a stirrup styled hilt with a curved counter guard an the outside of the stirrup. The grip mitself is made of reeded ebony. The blade is German made and faintly marked “Me Facit Solingen” on back just in front of the grip. The George III Cypher may be faintly observed on the blade, which is quite pitted. Blade length is a little over 30”. This sword has seen a lot of use, and is in fair-good condition. This collectible sword should appreciate in value as well as being a nice addition to your collection. . British Parade Dress Sword, Edward VII 1909. Manufactured by the famous British swordmaker firm Mole, this is an Edward VII era (1909) parade dress sword with original scabbard. The sword is in very good condition overall, the blade is straight with no rust, and the grip and scabbard are nice as well. All correct markings are on both sides of the ricasso. There is some noticeable rust on the bottom inside of the guard. This is a very nice and desirable pre-WWI British Sword. US Navy Officer’s Sword With Scabbard. This is a regulation US Navy Officer’s Sword, probably circa WWI-WWII era. The sword blade is engraved with scrollwork, and also engraved “USN” There is no name on the blade. The ricasso is marked: “ Pasquale, San Francisco.” These swords were (and still are) private purchase, and they have been made by many different makers. The sword grip is in great shape, we believe it to be white sharkskin with gold wrap. The guard itself has “USN” on it, and it has tarnished to a very nice patina. The leather scabbard is in excellent condition. If you have a Naval Officer’s dress uniform in your collection this would be a great accessory. 1860 Ames Artillery Sword with scabbard. Excellent representative Civil War Artillery Sword. Manufacturer is Ames, Chicopee Mass. Solid blade, handle and wrap all in excellent condition with the normal wear evident on most period pieces. Deep fullers with minor pitting. Scabbard is in excellent condition with the usual service dings. An excellent Civil War sword.

Pata Sword Gauntlet, from Northern India. This is an excellent example of this type sword, and it has Portugese West India markings. The blade is estimated to be from the 1600's - 1700's. The handle is estimated to be from a later period, most likely the 1800's. Overall length is 44.5 " with a blade length of 35"> A seldom-seen sword. |
