Ornate Italian Flintlock Pistol. Stock # C-R. No serial #. In approximately .50 caliber, this 18th Century flintlock pistol is, we believe, of Italian origin. The ornate pistol has brass fittings that are ornately engraved with what looks like either Roman of Hellenic motifs. Condition of the finish, again it is mostly brass-is 95%. The wooden stock has a noticeable small crack on the right side of the buttstock, but it otherwise is very nice, rating 90%. The bore is dark. This nice flintlock will display nicely, and certainly will be a good addition to your collection. Unique Mediterranen copy of the French Cavalry Model 1816 pistol done in the early 19th Century in original flint lock, not re-created. It has Arabic style markings on the lock, the wrist is cracked and the triggerguard is repaired. The pistol has seen much use, finish is brown with light pitting, there is no provision for a ramrod. This pistol is approximately 69 caliber, and it is all original. The brass front band is missing and replaced by a period brass homemade band. What you have here is an authentic 19th century flintlock pistol that will display nicely, and for a flintlock, it is quite affordable. This firearm is an antique. Magnificent Dublin Castle Flintlock Pistol. This authentic Flintlock Pistol, made in the 1700s at the British Royal Arsenal Dublin Castle, in Dublin, Ireland, is in extraordinarily nice condition. The ornate lock bears the Crown and GR for British King George, and the shield and mark of Dublin Castle. The pistol was probably used by local Irish Constabulary, as it is not British Broad arrow marked. As mentioned, the pistol is in excellent condition, the lock and hammer are shiny, all brass fittings, while they have aged, have a nice patina, and the barrel has aged to a dark brown patina. The wooden stock is excellent (90%) with only minor service dings. Besides the lock markings, the only other markings anywhere on the pistol are atop the barrel, F.C. 7.002 is lightly marked there. The ramrod is wood with brass hardware, and appears to be original. The pistol is a huge caliber, like a 70 or so. The lock and trigger function flawlessly. This is a very rare pistol, and it will sell to a very advanced collection or a museum, it is certainly an investment-grade firearm.
