Colt 1911A1 transition, one of the first 1911A1's to come off the manufacturing line in 1924. According to Clawson, the serial number range for the 1911A1 production started at 700001. The serial number of this pistol is 700101, which makes it the 100th 1911A1 produced. The pistol has not been refinished, and little of the original finish on the slide remains and is freckled. The frame has approximately 40-50% of the brushed blued finish remaining, again with freckling in areas. The grips are correct but not original to this pistol, having evidence of being on a pistol with the heart shaped cut outs. The barrel has the intertwined HP stamp on the top with no other markings evident. The bore is good with a few small dark areas. The slide is marked at the rear with an H above the firing pin, and the frame is marked with an H in front of the dis-connector and a G behind it. It has a correct unmarked two tone magazine.
