1940’S WWII Vintage Winchester Model 1894 .32WS. Stock # MSR153913SP. Serial # 1486xxx. The serial number of this 94 Winchester indicates it was produced between 1941-1945 – during this period precise records of the year produced were not kept as Winchester was, quite appropriately, preoccupied with producing M1 Garands, M1 Carbines, and other arms for the war effort! During this time, few sporting guns were produced by Winchester, hence this Model 1894 is quite collectible. Chambered for .32WS, the rifle was a “working gun,” and that is reflected in the condition. The finish rates about 80%, with noticeable freckling, mostly on both sides of the receiver. The Winchester markings are strong on the barrel, however they have been completely rubbed off the tang. The rifle has the desirable flat bands. Stock condition is about 85% - it would actually rate a little better than that, however a proud hunter has dotted or “notched” the pistol grip area with 8 little dots, mostly prevalent on the left side (the individual we bought this from said it denotes bucks dispatched by his Grandpa!). At any rate, this just gives the rifle a bit of character. The bore needs a good cleaning, but the rifling is still strong. The lever action functions smoothly, and trigger pull is smooth also. As mentioned, Wartime Winchester sporting rifles, even the venerable Model 94’s, are rather scarce, and are very desirable. This rifle will clean up nicely with a little TLC, and it should prove to be a very good investment. jacksonarmorypower! NEW
Magnificent Cimarron Model 1873 Deluxe .357 Rifle. Stock # MSR153901SP. Serial # 92xxx. This beautiful Cimarron Model 1983 Deluxe is an extremely high-quality very faithful reproduction of the famous Winchester Model 1873. The rifle has a 24” octagon barrel, and beautiful casehardening on the receiver, lever, hammer, and trigger. The rifle is finished in a beautiful deep blue with varnished heavy wooden stocks, we hate to gush, but this is really a handsome rifle, and this is what the Winchester 73’s must have looked like when they were “new guns.” The rifle’s overall condition is between 90-95%. The finish easily rates 95% with only the most minor wear near the crown. There are a few stock dings and service marks, most notably a small ding on the right forestock, and some noticeable scratching on the left side of the buttstock near the crescent-shaped buttplate, thus, stock condition is 90%+. The bore is really nice, and the lever action works very smoothly. Chambered for .357 Magnum (it will, of course, also chamber .38 Special) you will have no trouble obtaining ammo for this great rifle. If you are a Cowboy Action shooter, or you just want a great “73” that you can actually shoot, this is your gun. Stevens Model 44 Ideal .22LR Rifle. Stock # MSR152012SP. Serial # 72xxx. This very collectible Stevens Ideal rifle is chambered for .22LR, and it is in nice condition. The lever action rifle features a crescent buttplate, and ramp rear sight. Condition – wise, the rifle’s finish rates about 90%- with some evident freckling, especially on the barrel, but there is no rust or pitting. Stock condition is pretty good as well, rating 90%, with only minor service dings. The bore needs a good cleaning, but it is good, rating 85-90%. Trigger pull is smooth, however the spring tension in the hammer is a bit loose, and this will probably need adjustment if you plan on shooting the rifle. Rare US-Marked Winchester Mod 1885 Winder Musket. Stock # SP COMM. Serial # 124xxx. Chambered for .22 Short, this is a very rare and desirable Winchester 1885 Winder Musket. US Ordinance marked on the tang, this rifle is in very good condition. The rifle features a 27” barrel, and adjustable rear peep sight. Overall condition is very good. Finish condition rates about 85%, with some normal wear, mostly on the right side of the peep sight, and some wear on the barrel. There is a small scratch on the right side of the receiver. There is no rust or pitting. Stock condition is very good, 90%, with no cracks or dents. Bore condition is good-very good, and the action cycles correctly with a good trigger pull. This is a rarely seen Winchester that will enhance a fairly advanced collection, and it certainly is an investment-grade firearm as well. This gun is an antique. Antique Winchester Model 1892 .38WCF, Mfg 1897. Stock # SPW. Serial # 149xxx. This great old Winchester 92 is chambered for .38-40, and it was manufactured in 1897. The rifle has a rare 28” octagonal barrel, and an unusual (probably special order) front sight. The only “alteration” we can find on this rifle is a screw on the tang has been replaced (many years ago). This very collectible Winchester is in great condition. The finish has aged to a really nice patina with some honest freckling, and with the patina it rates 75%. While the stock has some small service dings and scratches, overall it is really nice, and rates 80-85%. The bore on this old workhorse is great, and the lever action seems to work fine with a nice trigger pull. A Texas gun, there is just no telling what history this great rifle has seen over the years, and now it is ready to take a noble position of honor in your collection! In our opinion, besides being quite collectible, this Winchester should prove to be a good investment as well. This rifle is an antique. Antique 1873 Winchester .38-40 Rifle W/ Saddle Ring . Stock # SPCW1. Serial # 421xxx. Manufactured in 1892, and chambered for .38-40, this is a very collectible 73 Winchester. This great old rifle has seen a lot of use in it’s day, it is one of those guns you wish it could talk! As a result, the rifle is a little “tired” mechanically, but it has aged very well, and looks great. Everything “works” on the rifle, but the action is very stiff, and the bore is in relic condition, so we don’t recommend shooting it. Finish condition is about 70% with considerable freckling on the receiver and barrel. The finish has acquired a very nice aged patina. The dust cover is a replacement, we believe, although it looks to be an original Winchester part. The rifle still has a saddle ring. Stock condition is pretty good, maybe 80% - it looks like something may have been taped on the left side of the buttstock, but the tape outline should easily clean up. This great old Winchester will look displayed on the wall or over the mantle, and it will be a nice addition to your collection. Pre-64 Winchester Saddle Ring Model 1894, .3OWCF. Stock # MSR141511. Serial # 859xxx. This Collectible Winchester Model 1894, one of MANY MORE (not all are online) that we have for sale at Jackson Armory, is chambered for .30 WCF and it was manufactured in 1919. Most of the original finish is gone, about 65-70% remains, and it has aged to a fine patina with some freckling, but no pitting. Stock condition is 80% with a small dent on the right side of the buttstock, and there are some minor scratches. The bore is somewhat dark, rating 65%. This is an honest, unaltered 1894 Winchester with a saddle ring that will fit just fine in your collection, and it should appreciate in value over the years as well. Antique Enfield 1874 Martini-Henry Rifle. Stock # SPM-1. Chambered for the British .577/450 caliber, this Martini-Henry rifle was manufactured by Enfield in 1874, and is so marked on the receiver. Originally in use as a British Service Rifle, this gun was eventually ceded to the Nepalese Police and Military, and is marked “N.S. N.E.P” on the left side of the barrel, just below the adjustable rear sight. Also, like any British service arm, ther are British proof marks all over the gun, as well as a nice stock cartouche. This is the rifle made famous in the movie “ZULU!”. One of several Martinis we have in stock at this writing, the rifle is in good overall condition for a service rifle of it’s age. Stock and finish condition both rate 85%, with freckling and dings and dents in the stock. The bore actually has pretty good rifling, and rates 85%, and the action cycles fine with a good trigger pull. Savage 99-G Deluxe, Takedown, 300 Savage, 1925 manufacture! MSR140107. This rifle is a wonderful piece of history. This rifle includes both buckhorn style barrel mounted rear sights, and a tang mounted Lyman adjustable rear peep sight. A fantastic addition to this rifle is the compass mounted into the comb, which makes this a true deep woods hunter’s companion. This rifle is a takedown model for ease of storage and transport, especially on a long hunt deep in the woods where backpack storage would be a necessity. The barrel is 24 inches long, and the length of pull is 13 5/8 inches (it was shortened from original length), and the wood looks great with 98%+ original finish remaining and only three miniscule handling marks (about ¾ of and inch in length and 1/16th of and inch apart) on the right side of the comb, and could easily be buffed out. The jewelling on both of the bolt faces is better than 95%, and the jewelling on the inside of the lever is 95% plus as well. The case colors on the lever handle is 95%+ and the blue on the barrel is in similar original condition. The blue on the action has been restored to nearly 100%. This rifle is the consummate hunter! What an addition to any lucky collector’s list!!! Winchester Model 1894, takedown model, Special order, chambered in 30 WCF caliber, manufactured in 1896. Inventory # WIN002. This rifle has a 24” tapered octagonal barrel. It has a beaded blade front sight with adjustable Climbin’ Lyman peep rear sight (itself a very rare and desirable sight). The original bluing on the barrel is at about 70%+ with some light pitting around the muzzle and a few freckles on the flats and a few handling marks on the edges between the flats, darker bore with good rifling, and the original bluing on the action is in the 50%+ range with a few scattered small patches of minor pitting. The buttplate retains about 50%+ original bluing with one small scratch and a few dark places. The furniture is standard grain wood with 90%+ original finish, with occasional handling marks and one minor dent (visible in pictures) but overall very nice. Australian Constable’s Rifle Converted to .32 Winchester Special. Stock # MMR130301SP. Serial # X1xx. Manufactured by B.S.A. (British Small Arms – and marked bu them on the left side of the receiver) in England, this rifle was used by the Australian Constabulary, and is marked “COMMONWEAKTH OF AUSTRALIA” on the right side of the receiver. There is also a great Australian cartouche on the right side of the buttstock. This little rifle has a 24 & 9/16” barrel, and is 40 & ¼’ in overall length. Originally chambered for .310, this rifle has been converted to .32 Winchester Special, and this is great, as that caliber is available (as opposed to .310 ammo) and you can actually shoot the rifle. The gun is in excellent condition, finish is about 95%, stock condition, with just a few service dings, rates a 90%, the bore is good, and the lever action cycles just fine. Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine 30-30. Stock # MSR124008. Serial # 486xxxx. This Winchester Model 94 Saddle Ring Carbine was made in 1980, and is pre-crossbolt. The carbine has a 15&1/2” barrel, and is a diminutive 34” in overall length. In very good overall condition, the finish rates about 90%, there is some freckling on both sides of the receiver. Martini-Henry Rifle, Nepalese Issue. Stock # SP Comm. Marked on the receiver “V.R” (for Queen Victoria) and “Enfield 1878” with the British crown emblem, this rifle began it’s life in the service of the British Military, and was later issued to Nepalese Colonial Troops. There are Nepalese markings on the buttstock. As is typical of British service weapons, there are British proof marks all over the rifle (see pics). If you have seen the famous movie “ZULU!” this is the rifle the British Troops were using. Winchester 1886 .40-82 Saddle Ring Carbine, RARE! Stock # AW-1. No visible serial number. This is an extremely rare Winchester Model 1886, chambered for .40-82. Despite it’s rarity, we are offering this rifle at a relatively inexpensive price (i.e. for something this rare and collectible) because the rifle has been buffed out and refinished. The refinish is a good job, however whomever did it managed to buff out most of the markings (although some are still faintly visible on the barrel) and the serial number. British Matrini-Henry Converted to Smoothbore For Nepalese Police. Stock # M-H2. This rifle (now a shotgun) began it’s life in 1876, the year of manufacture by Enfield in England, as a British Military Service Rifle. The rifle was later given to Police Forces in Nepal and converted to a smoothbore for police use as a shotgun. At the time of conversion the rear ramp sight was removed and Nepalese cartouches were applied to the buttstock. All the original British Military proof marks remain on the barrel and receiver.
The rifle was made in 1876 by Enfield, and those markings faintly remain on the receiver. This is a very interesting version of the Martini-Henry, and quite collectible! Winchester Model 1894 25-35 Takedown Rifle. Stock # MSR110508. Serial # 89xxx. Dating to the early 1920’s, this is a really nice and very collectible 94 Winchester Takedown Rifle. Chambered for .25-35 the rifle has a 20” octagon barrel and is 38” in overall length. It has a crescent-shaped buttplate and a very nice stock. There are a few minor dings in the varnished stock, but nothing major. Finish is about 80-85%, most of the wear is on the sides and top of the receiver, however there is no visible rust or pitting. Item-MSR100904 - This is a Pre-64, Winchester Model 94 Rifle in .32 Winchester Special or .32 WS. It was manufactured approximately 1960 and is in very good to excellent condition. The bluing on the metal is rated at 98% with a spot of thinning midway down the barrel in front of the barrel band. The walnut stock is a very attractive straight grain with minor surface finish scoring and numerous, but minor handling marks on buttstock and one 1/3"x1/2" ding on lower left side of wrist. Winchester Model 1873 38-40. Stock # MSR103307. Serial # 556xxxx. This Winchester 73 was manufactured in 1901. The rifle has a 24” barrel and is 43” in overall length. Exhibiting a lot of character, the rifle’s finish and stock have both aged to a fine patina, however there are no major dings or dents. At some point in the distant past someone “whited out” the Winchester markings, however most of the white is now gone, but traces remain (see photos). Overall condition of the rifle is good, it has acquired a nice patina over the years, however there is no visible rust. There are a few very minor scratches on the receiver, and a screw is missing on the left side of the receiver. Stock condition overall is very nice also, there bis a dent in the left side of the buttstock, but it is not readily visible and does not detract from the carbine’s visible appearance. Bore is dark but good. Antique Winchester Model 1876 in .40-60 Caliber With Factory Letter. Stock # C-MB. Serial # 53xxx. This rugged old Winchester 76 was made in 1886, and hence, is classified as an antique .Chambered for .40-60, the rifle is “in the white” with no finish remaining. The rifle has a 24” barrel, and the blade of the front sight is missing. The bore is about 35%. The stock is original, and like the metal, is well used with many dings, and there are some initials carved into the handguard. Although this rifle has all the aforementioned drawbacks, it is still a very collectible Winchester, especially with the factory letter, and if one is considering purchase as an investment, this rifle would be a good candidate for restoration. Antique Winchester Model 1894 Takedown Rifle. Stock # AW-1. Serial # 89xxx. This beautiful Model 94 was manufactured in 1897, hence it is an antique. In beautiful condition, this highly desirable rifle has a 20” octagon barrel, and is 38” in overall length.It does appear that the barrel has been cut down. The rifle is chambered for 25-35 WCF. Winchester Model 1894 “North East” Carbine, .32 WS. Stock # MSR082309C. This is a very desirable, and very collectible Model 94 Winchester carbine in the “North East” style. Serial # 105xxxx, the carbine dates to 1927. “North East” style carbines were similar in appearance to saddle ring carbines, and had the shotgun-style butt plates, etc. This particular carbine has been well used, but not abused, giving it a lot of character. In .32 Winchester Special caliber, the barrel has all correct Winchester markings, including ‘Nickel Steel.” The barrel retains most of the original factory blueing, however blueing on the receiver, especially the left side, is flaking considerably. The action works properly with no faults, and the bore is so-so, confirming lots of use. Martially Marked Henry Rifle Identified to Civil War Soldier. This museum quality firearm shows many areas of nice original blue. Excellent bore. All markings are sharp and clear. The long range sight retains most of the original color and is in perfect condition.The internal working components are near perfect as well.Most of the original gilt finish remains and the stock is near mint. The left stock bears a "JT" marking for US Inspector John Taylor, and there is an "H" marked on the stock tang.
Identified by Serial # in the records of the 3'rd US Veteran Volunteer Infantry Order Book, Companies F-K at the National Archives:Robert Wilson, 3rd US Veteran Volunteer Formerly enrolled in CO H106th PA Infantry,
Pvt Wilson enlisted 9/20/1862, was taken Prisoner at Petersburg VA on 6/22/1864 and exchanged Sept. 1864. Wilson was discharged from the 106th and enlisted w/ the 3'rd US VV on 3/27/1865, then under command of Gen. Winfield Scott. Wilson was given this rifle, serial # 7406 as an incentive. He was later promoted to Sergeant.
This superb historic firearm demands an advanced collector, and is a magnificent investment. Few such weapons with similar provenance exist in the private sector. |
