In near-mint condition, this is a modern shooting reproduction of the famous 1873 “Trapdoor” Springfield that was used post-Civil War on the plains by the Indian fighters and buffalo hunters. Chambered for .45-70, the rifle has a nicely grained checkered wooden stock, rating 96% condition. All the fittings, inclusive of the lock, buttplate, hammer, trigger, and bands are beautifully casehardened – this is a beautiful gun! If you are a wild-west reenactor, or you just like to hunt and /or shoot .45-70, this will be a wonderful gun for you. In excellent condition, this really exceptional Winchester Model 61 .22 was manufactured in 1950, and it is very collectible, and also certainly has a lot of shooting life in it as well! The rifle will chamber .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle. It is fitted with a vintage Weaver scope with good optics. The rifle is in exceptionally nice condition, the finish has minimal wear, and rates 95%+. Stock condition is excellent as well, also rating 95%. The bore is very nice. Antique .22 cal. Colt Lightening Rifle. Stock # CBL. Serial # 16xxx. Manufactured in 1886, this Colt Lightening rifle is chambered for .22 caliber, and has a 23” octagon barrel. This great old Colt rifle has seen a lot of use over the years, but it has aged well, acquiring a nice patina. Most of the original finish is gone, and there is minor freckling on the 405 that still remains. All Colt markings, including the rampant colt on the right side of the receiver, are still legible. Stock condition is very good, with service dings and a few small dents, but no cracks, and it rates 80%. The bore is fair-good. This is a collectible Colt rifle that should be a good investment, and it will display nicely on your wall or over the mantle. Ruger #1 Rifle, .25-06, Presented to Paul Thayer, US Secretary of Defense! Stock # MSR143404CRT. Serial # 130-20xxx. This Ruger #1 rifle is chambered for .25-06, and made in 1976 it is a 200’th Year Ruger, but the thing that makes this rifle so special is that it was presented to the late Paul Thayer, former Secretary of Defense for Ronald Regan . Mr Thayer was a resident of our own great city of Dallas, Texas and was quite a colorful character. He was a former Military Test Pilot, former CEO of LTV Corporation, and , as mentioned, former Secretary Of Defense for Ronald Regan. He was appointed Secretary in 1982, and resigned the next year, as he was involved in an insider trading scandal (for which he later served prison time). The rifle was presented to Mr. Thayer for a one-shot antelope hunt in Lander, Wyoming, and is so inscribed on the left side of the receiver. The right side of the receiver is engraved “Paul Thayer, National Team 1974” The cocking lever is engraved with Thayer’s initials “WPT”. The rifle is fitted with a Redfield 2x-7x 4-Plex scope. Despite being a presentation rifle, Mr. Thayer evidently actually used this rifle, it was not a “safe queen.” The stock is in excellent condition, rating 95%. Overall finish condition is 95% also, there is an area of rust on the left side of the receiver where it meets the buttstock. Bore condition is very good. This rifle belonged to a Historically Significant individual, and it is an investment-grade, one-of-a-kind firearm that probably belongs in a museum. Henry's Patent Short Rifle. This is one of the very few ever found left hand cock New South Wales Henry’s patent Short Rifles in .450-3¼ caliber as described in Jonathan Kirton’s book “the Falling Block Breechloading Rifle from 1865” on pages 55-57. According to Kirton only one example exists. The gun is only in Very Good polished condition but is marked “Henry’s Patent Rifling” on the barrel and “W.R.A. & Co. 1871” on the breech. The gun is Complete and working and polished in the white. The stock is marked “N.S.W. K20” with a major factory type repair to the wrist. The bore has good rifling. Us Model 1873 Trapdoor Springfield 45-70. Stock # 8X. This is another of the many Trapdoor Springfields we currently have in our inventory. As with a few other examples, we have reduced the price of this one for speedy sale to a discerning buyer who is able to recognize a bargain when he or she sees one. The rifle has seen a lot of use and little of the finish remains, with foxing evident of the barrel and sideplate. Springfield markings are faintly visible on the sideplate, and it’s hard to see but the “US” marking is on the buttplate. Cleaning rod is missing and the dark stock has service dings one would expect to see, but is not cracked. The bore is dark. The aforementioned description notwithstanding, this rifle would still be an enhancement to a collection, and it would display well on your wall or above the fireplace. |

Springfield 1864 / 66 2'nd Model Allen Conversion .50-70 Musket. Nice representative example of an Allen "Trapdoor" Conversion. US Springfield marked on the lockplate, and 1 lock screw is missing, however the musket is otherwise complete, including cleaning rod. A blackened WWII sling is added as an accoutrament, and while certainly not of the period it does enhance the look of the musket. The wood is very good, and some of the original finish remains. This would look good in your collection. |

Two Trigger Frank Wesson Carbine, 2'nd type half nickel, in 38RF caliber.This example has fixed rim fire hammer, manual ejector on the right side, and slotted link on the left side. This gun retains 80% blue on the barrel, some of it turning a patina, and it has a very crisp bore with light frost. The trigger guard and butt plate are original nickel plated. The carbine has a blade front sight, and a broken buck horn rear sight. There is a 3.5" crack in the left wrist of the stock. The tang is slotted for a peep sight. An excellent gun for the Frank Wesson collector! Reduced! |
