Condition is truly magnificent overall, an easy 95%, including finish, stocks and bore. Economical Western Field Model 30 12ga. Shotgun. Stock # MSS150902BL. Serial #U10xxx. Manufactured by Stevens for sale in Montgomery Ward stores under the Western Field name, this shotgun is essentially a Stevens Model 520. Chambered for 12gauge, the shotgun has a 29” barrel, and a 14 & ½” length of pull. As a no-frills pump-action shotgun, it has seen a lot of use, but the shotgun still can be a cheap, but durable field gun for you. Although a little worn on the edges, the shotgun seems to be in good mechanical order with a pretty good bore. The finish and stocks are pretty worn, rating about 75%. Western Field Model 30 12ga. Takedown Shotgun. Stock # MSS140411SP. Serial # 95xxx. While most of the “store brand” shotguns were of lesser quality, this Western Field Model 30 12ga, made for Montgomery Wards, was actually made by Stevens, and is, in all respects, a Stevens Model 520 takedown shotgun with Western Field’s name on it! The pump-action shotgun features a 30’ plain barrel, and 14” length of pull. In overall good condition, the finish shows a lot of wear, and there is an area of rust on the pump 9both sides of the forend) and freckling on the barrel and receiver, thus finish condition is 65-70%. The checkered stocks rate about 75%. Bore condition is good, and the action and trigger pull work smoothly. Ithaca model 37 Deerslayer featherlight, 12 gauge, with Weaver scope. MSS141702BL. This is the consummate hunting weapon… a scoped tack driver that puts a .729 inch (12ga) hole in what it hits…that is nearly a 73 caliber hole!!! Most bullets go in small and come out big, but this one goes in big and comes out bigger! The wood is in excellent shape, with only small handling marks that could be easily buffed out, and the blue is nearly perfect, with only small, barely noticeable rub marks underneath where the slide moves. The bore is bright and shiny, the barrel is 20 inches long, and the LOP is 14 inches. Overall this is a very compact shotgun that is easily toted when you are in a brush situation chasing pigs. If it has four legs, it has a real problem when you are in the woods with this beast!!! Winchester model 12, 12 gauge, beautiful stock!!! MSS141704BL. This is one of the sharpest model 12’s this author has ever seen. (the sling has been removed and is not part of this auction) The blue on the action and the barrels is nearly perfect, 95% or better, probably refinished but hard to tell…looks factory, with the only small rub spots being the standard feint marks where the forend slides. The forend is original walnut and in 98% or better condition – practically flawless - and the butt stock is upgraded to a gorgeous piece of curly walnut which is in 95% or better condition with only tiny handling marks that are barely visible and could be buffed out with only minimal effort. The butt pad is soft strong rubber and has some wear around the screw holes and a small wear spot near the toe, but is still in great functional condition. The LOP is 14¾ inches, the barrel is 26 inches, the choke is fixed at cylinder, and the bore is bright and shiny. This is a fantastic deal at this price!!! The bore is great, it has a 28” barrel and 14” length of pull. The shotgun comes with one Winchoke tube (modified) attached. Ithaca model 37 Featherweight, 20 gauge. MSS131515. This shotgun is used but not abused, and would make a great field gun for a new shooter, an avid bird hunter that wants to test his (or her) skill with something smaller than a 12, or one heck of a mean rabbit gun. The blue on the barrel is about 80%+, and the blue on the action is about 80% with some freckling and fading patina in spots around the top and bottom (but not the sides) where the game scenes are. The scenes are of ducks and a dog chasing quail. The front sight is a nice, very visible fiber optic bead that will increase the speed of target acquisition. The 24 inch barrel has an adjustable choke set to modified, and the LOP is 14 inches. This is a great game getter, and for the price, how could you go wrong??!!
