Nice Springfield Armory 1911 .45 Mfr 1915

Only about 25,000 were ever made. Lots were lost in WW1 through attrition. This is a good representative of a Springfield 1911 from the May 16, 1914 contract delivered in 1915. Rare Simson & Co Vopo Luger No SN#!

This Luger appears to be made up from a Rare Simsons & Co Armory’s kit parts that were refinished for East German Vopo police spare parts. No markings on the frame and barrel where the serial numbers should be, nor does there appear to be any alteration to these areas (before bidding make sure that a gun with no serial number is ok to own in your state). The ejector is strawed and has a eagle/6 mark, hold open has #87 eagle/6, sear eagle/6 #63, firing pin #3 and eagle/6, firing pin spring guide eagle/6, coupling link eagle/6, the front of the toggle has a faint eagle/6, center toggle under marked with S blank top. Colt 1911A1 transition, one of the first 1911A1's to come off the manufacturing line in 1924. According to Clawson, the serial number range for the 1911A1 production started at 700001. The serial number of this pistol is 700101, which makes it the 100th 1911A1 produced. The pistol has not been refinished, and little of the original finish on the slide remains and is freckled. The frame has approximately 40-50% of the brushed blued finish remaining, again with freckling in areas. The grips are correct but not original to this pistol, having evidence of being on a pistol with the heart shaped cut outs. The barrel has the intertwined HP stamp on the top with no other markings evident. The bore is good with a few small dark areas. The slide is marked at the rear with an H above the firing pin, and the frame is marked with an H in front of the dis-connector and a G behind it. It has a correct unmarked two tone magazine. The 9mm pistol has a 1921 date on the receiver, and it is evident that it had a Police sear safety. The pistol has been re-worked, re-finished, and it has been force-matched. The magazine in the gun matches also, the extra mag (you get 2 mags, total) in the holster does not match. The pistol now has a polished blue finish and black plastic “VOPO”-style grips. Erfurt 1914 Artillery Luger, First Year Production. Stock # MSH202401RT. Serial # 61xx u. 1914 wat the first year of Erfurt production, and this is a very nice example of an Erfurt Artillery. The pistol is all matching, except for the rear sight, which may be an arsenal replacement, and the magazine, which is an aluminum-based WWII mag. The pistol is in really nice condition, about 855 of the original straw remains, and the blued finish has holster wear in the usual spots, mostly the sideplate, and there are minor service marks, but overall finish condition is 90%. The original wooden checkered grips show some wear, but they rate 905 as well. The pistol has a great bore, shiny with strong rifling. This is a very nice 1914 Erfurt Artillery that will fit nicely into your collection.
